First In A Series of Articles

The lamp illuminates your first step. Then the next step. And the next.
For your goals to be realized….All you NEED to SEE is the next step.
However, too many people suffer from this condition… “I need to know everything, each itsy-bitsy-tinnie-wennie nugget of information, before I can get started.”
Do you know that type of person? They never accomplish much – we never see their greatness – they are still studying, examining, contemplating, preparing to get started.
Don’t fall into that trap! It is a bee-hive of lies we tell ourselves – to make ourselves “feel” better that we are indeed moving our goals forward.
Truthfully, do YOU suffer from this condition? Do YOU need to know “everything” BEFORE you get started?
If so… I’ll let you in on a secret. It is a doozie. It is powerful. Ask me how I know!
And, don’t let the simplicity of the next statement dampen its truth. Are you ready? Here it is… You do NOT “need” to know “everything”, all the steps, to get started on your quest. You really don’t.
I beg of you… give yourself permission to learn sequentially. Learn as you go. Implement each step… one at a time. So, when you finally get to Step 23, you will be READY to know/learn/understand Step 23.
Stop telling yourself you have to learn MORE before you get started. Stop delaying.
You are only procrastinating…stuttering… pretending…
Do you “really” need to KNOW everything before you begin? No Sir Re-Bob!
And… guess what??? If you adopt this philosophy, do you know what happens? It is a beautiful thing. It ELIMINATES the STRESS of “pretending” you need to KNOW IT ALL “right now”.
It is OK to learn Step One really good. Then, do Step One.
Next, learn Step Two. Then, do Step Two.
You will learn each step when it’s time to learn it. Forget about Step 23 right now.
One step at a time. The first step comes first.
So lean in and listen to me. This is important. I have seen it over and over and over. You don’t need to read another book, attend another seminar, buy another course, consult with another friend, call your CPA, … you need to get started. Take that first step. Be brave – God made you unique and he made you brave!
Hear me out: Pretending you “need” to study more, BEFORE you get started is simply a mental trap you abuse to keep your fear in a cage. You HIDE behind “preparing” because it is safe. Sure, you “look busy” but aren’t really doing anything.
Get in the arena. Earn some bruises. Bruises are cool. Bruises tell a story of a journey you are on.
So, DO IT… Do It Now… despite your fear. Do it anyway. And who cares!?!?! NO ONE! No one is looking at you anyways (That’s another secret of the successful – they know this already!).
In my experience, the number one fear people have is… Drum Roll…. “What will “they” think of me?”
Get over that. Normally, “they” aren’t even watching – they are caught up in their own life on facebook or instagram. AND… trust me, they are thinking the exact same thing, What will “they” think of me?” This same question STOPS them from accomplishing anything great too.
You see.. “They”… most likely… have never accomplished anything BIG themselves. They have lived a life of “playing it small”. And… IF THEY DID DO ANYTHING BIG, THEY’D SUPPORT YOU! Because only the truly successful understand the fear of standing on the edge of the cliff and jumping… hoping their wings spread.
At some point, you have to jump… to take the first step… to believe in yourself.
And let me tell you, if anyone did speculate, “Oh, you can’t do that”. Take that as a flat out challenge! Let that fuel the flame into a rage of motivation. And here is some flat-out truth.. nothing feels better than doing what others say you can’t do!
So… STOP studying. STOP worrying what “they” will say. And… STOP saying “someday I’ll get started”. Somehow LIFE gets in the way and “someday” never arrives. Just stop it.
The truth is… You will be AHEAD “tomorrow” if you get started “today”. Next week, you will be way ahead. Who knows where you will be in six-months or a year. You might not even recognize yourself!
The light is at your feet. That’s enough.
The lamp is illuminating the path. That’s enough.
God made you special. You are enough.
You can do it if you’d only allow yourself to get started.
And don’t forget this little fact…. You have the ability to make course corrections. The path may zig-zag, go up-and-down, or flip upside down… but you got this! The wind changes, adjust your sails – no big deal.
So.. go buy those paint brushes and slap some paint on the canvas. Call that voice instructor and get singing! Pick up that pen start writing. Call the flight instructor and get that lesson scheduled. Go apply for your D.B.A. & open a checking account. Get the ball rolling.
You got this. Love yourself enough to do it.
It’s your turn. The world is waiting for your greatness. Your family needs your greatest. But mostly, YOU DESERVE TO SEE YOUR GREATNESS.
God has illuminated the path.
Start with the first step.
Take that step now.
Have faith.
